What is Bristol Free Voice?
Bristol Free Voice is a grassroots citizen journalism project set up by members and volunteers at Borderlands and Bristol Refugee Rights. The project aims to create a media platform for refugees and asylum seekers. Based within our Bristol community we aim to spread our stories and news throughout Bristol and further.
Bristol Free Voice developed out of the frustration we felt at the depiction of refugees and asylum seekers in the mainstream media. Our project evolved from this injustice, and we have been meeting to develop a platform to disseminate real stories and perceptions from refugees and asylum seekers, to everyone.
On this website you can see the work that we have done so far. We plan to create this as a space for you to enjoy our news, stories, music and culture.
